After completing her undergraduate studies in Industrial Engineering in Peru, Gabriela Veliz chose France to pursue graduate studies in a country known for its long-standing engineering tradition and its strong industrial ecosystem.
From this starting point, she details the reasons that led her to pursue the Master in Engineering at ESILV.
Building a Technical Foundation in Emerging Engineering Fields
Before joining ESILV, Gabriela specialised in supply chain and operations during her studies in Industrial Engineering. Her objective in coming to France was to reinforce her technical background and gain exposure to programming, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.
The Industry & Robotics specialisation enables her to work on applied engineering projects, such as programming robotic arms and developing obstacle-avoidance algorithms. Through these projects, she is strengthening her skills in technologies that are shaping the future of industrial systems.
An Accredited Engineering Degree and a Structured Learning Environment
The ESILV Engineer’s degree is accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI), the only independent body authorised by French law to evaluate and recognise engineering programmes.
This accreditation was a key factor in Gabriela’s decision, as she sought an academically rigorous programme aligned with national standards.
Studying in France also places her in direct contact with leading industrial and manufacturing companies, creating a learning environment where innovation and engineering practices converge.
An International Experience Supported by a Multi-Cultural Campus
Gabriela highlights the importance of the international environment she found in Paris. Daily interactions with students from diverse backgrounds, involvement in student associations, and participation in campus life all contribute to her academic and personal experience.
Collaborative projects with peers from different cultures allow her to approach engineering challenges from multiple perspectives—an asset for careers in global industrial sectors.
Professional Goals and Career Prospects in France
After completing her Master’s degree, Gabriela aims to continue her professional journey in France and contribute to projects related to industry and robotics.
She intends to apply the knowledge and methods acquired throughout the programme in environments where innovation and engineering expertise are central.
She also hopes her experience can encourage other international students to consider studying engineering in France and explore the opportunities offered by ESILV and Paris.
A Campus Experience that Supports Student Engagement
Beyond academics, Gabriela values the activities organised by student associations and the opportunities to engage with the wider De Vinci Higher Education community. These experiences support her integration into student life and contribute to the collaborative spirit that characterises the school.
