A team from ESILV and KRYPTOSPHERE® achieved first place on the Exploration Track at the Ripple x EasyA Hackathon in Singapore, with a project that introduced innovative features for the XRPL blockchain.
This achievement highlights the ability of engineering students to apply their skills to emerging fields such as decentralized finance (DeFi) and blockchain technology.
The winning project: An Innovative Protocol for Yield Generation on XRPL
The winning project, called RL Treasury, focused on creating a compliant and straightforward way to generate yield on the XRP Ledger.
The solution leverages real-world assets like U.S. Treasury bills to provide on-chain returns through the stablecoin RLUSD.
ESILV students and participants Amaury Mongreville, Eva Mirza, and Romain Thépaut designed the SingleAssetVault, a feature currently in development on XRPL, and tested it in standalone mode. Users of the protocol deposit RLUSD and receive MPTokens, which represent their share of the vault and automatically generate yield.
Live Pitch at Apex 2025
In addition to winning the hackathon, the ESILV team had the chance to present their project on the main stage of Apex 2025, Ripple’s flagship developer conference.
The event brought together over 900 developers, founders, and innovators from the XRPL ecosystem.
With only five minutes to explain their project, the students demonstrated the potential of RL Treasury in front of an international community of blockchain specialists.

Collaboration with Industry Experts
The project benefited from discussions and feedback with professionals and experts, including members of the XRPL community.
Their insights contributed to refining the protocol and preparing for the live pitch.
This collaborative dimension reflects the importance of connecting engineering education with real-world applications in fintech, blockchain, and DeFi.
Ripple and EasyA: Building the Future of Web3
Ripple jointly organized the hackathon, a blockchain company founded in 2012 that enables faster and more transparent financial services worldwide, and EasyA, a Web3 learning platform connecting over 1 million users with more than 350 blockchain clubs globally.
Ripple’s enterprise-grade solutions are used across more than 40 countries. At the same time, EasyA has become a launchpad for the next generation of blockchain applications, with partnerships that include Ripple, Solana, and Sui.
Blockchain and FinTech at ESILV
Through initiatives such as hackathons, ESILV students gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies and practical challenges in blockchain and financial innovation.
These opportunities complement the academic curriculum and prepare future engineers to design secure and compliant solutions for tomorrow’s digital economy.
