In April 2025, De Vinci Higher Education ESILV Graduate School of Engineering was re-awarded the “Bienvenue en France” label at Level 2 by the Labeling Commission. This recognition acknowledges ESILV’s commitment to enhancing its reception services for international students.
The “Bienvenue en France” label was created to enable institutions to showcase their capacity to welcome new international students. It is awarded by Campus France and validated by an independent commission. Campus France will conduct a visit to ESILV within a three-year probationary period.
The “Bienvenue en France” label
The “Bienvenue en France” label is a pivotal national initiative spearheaded by the French government, designed to continuously elevate the quality of welcome offered to international students across its higher education landscape.
This ongoing endeavor is central to France’s ambition to boost its global attractiveness as a premier destination for academic pursuits.
By establishing a clear framework and encouraging best practices, the label aims to maintain and enhance an optimal environment that addresses the unique needs of students arriving from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
France’s Commitment to Quality Welcome for International Students
France has made a strong commitment to improving the welcome experience for international students, recognizing it as crucial for the internationalization and attractiveness of its higher education system. This strategy involves implementing tailored services and creating the “Bienvenue en France” label.
The “Bienvenue en France” label identifies French higher education institutions that have developed robust reception services for international students.
It serves as a mark of confidence, certifying the quality of welcome and acting as a promotional tool for the institutions.
The label aims to:
- Inform international students about the specific reception conditions within institutions.
- Certify the quality of welcome and highlight initiatives by French institutions in this area.
- Promote a culture of welcome within universities and schools.
Campus France is responsible for implementing the “Bienvenue en France” label, with 160 institutions currently holding the distinction.
The labeling process involves an online self-assessment by the institution, which includes a detailed submission and supporting evidence in the first year.
From the second year, an on-site visit by independent experts is conducted. An independent commission then decides on the labeling level. The label is granted for a period of three years.
